Instant secure 3G wireless connectivity for business from LOOPHOLD

SonicWALL's TZ 190 offers secure, cost effective alternative to wired Internet access
Johannesburg, 27 May 2007

To meet the growing need for fast, easy, cost effective and secure wireless broadband connectivity that leverages the latest 3G technologies, LOOPHOLD, an information security value-added distributor, is introducing SonicWALL's TZ 190. Offering instant secure high-speed 3G connectivity through the wireless networks of reliable vendors such as MTN, Vodacom and Cell C, the TZ 190 is tailored to suit SME and enterprise sized businesses and is a snap to install.

Says Martin Tassev, Managing Director at LOOPHOLD: "High-speed broadband Internet connections are becoming ever more essential to ensure maximum employee productivity and exchange confidential and sensitive business data. However, connectivity can be a problem where wired networks are unavailable or require time consuming installation and provisioning. SonicWALL's TZ 190 offers an alternative, giving businesses instant 3G wireless broadband access with secure networking"

With SonicWALL's TZ 190 there is no need for cables or technicians and the intuitive, wizard-driven setup process takes just minutes, simplifying even the most complicated tasks, such as IPSec VPN set-up and NAT configuration. This solution is especially attractive to retailers and organisations that must establish secure high-speed network access in an instant at hard-to-serve locations such as seasonal stores, unmanned kiosks, mobile POS stations, portable ATM machines, electronic marketing displays and outdoor sales sites where no wired options are available.

The TZ 190 is also ideal for disaster recovery networks and, importantly, will give small businesses a welcome boost. Explains Tassev: "At least 35% of small businesses must still rely on painfully slow dial-up connections. The TZ 190 offers a cost effective, efficient 3G connection with Internet connection speeds of 400 kbps to 1 Mbps which are comparable to DSL speeds. Even at their slowest, TZ 190 connections are about three times faster than dial-up and provide more than enough bandwidth to run modern business applications."

The TZ 190 is big on security. A high-performance, multi-layered network security platform, it integrates Type II PC Card based 3G wireless broadband support, hardware accelerated IPSec VPN, integrated and automated WAN failover and failback technologies for continuous uptime, a deep packet inspection firewall and optional 802.11b/g Wireless LAN access.

Notes Tassev: "The configurable, high performance deep packet inspection firewall provides enterprise-class protection for key Internet services such as Web, e-mail, file transfer, Windows services and DNS, while a deeper level of network security is offered through the integration of real-time gateway anti-virus, anti-spyware, intrusion prevention and anti-spam capabilities.

"SonicWALL's PortShield Architecture also gives users the flexibility to configure port level security for the LAN, providing protection between devices inside the LAN. Together, these features offer complete protection against malicious threats that originate either internally or from the Internet."

SonicWALL's award-winning Global Management System (GMS) provides a comprehensive set of management and reporting tools that enable simpler configuration, enforcement and management of global security policies, VPN and services - all from one central location.

Worldwide 3G wireless broadband coverage is ensured through support for both GSM and CDMA based 2G/3G networks, including 1xRTT, EV-DO, EV-DO rev A, UMTS, GPRS, EDGE and HSDPA.
