Insys acquires CRM and BI divisions from Infor

By Global Research Partners
Johannesburg, 22 Feb 2000

Insys Business Solutions today announced that it had acquired the Customer Relationship (CRM) and () divisions of Infor South Africa, the local subsidiary of Infor Germany. A long time business partnership already exists between Insys and Infor SA, and follows the hand-over of the EPICOR customer base to INSYS by INFOR in August 99.

The sale of Infor`s CRM and BI divisions comes as a direct result of Infor Germany`s strategic decision to acquire their own CRM and BI products, which will be incorporated into their own ERP solution, Infor.com.

Through the acquisition of these business divisions, Insys has not only increased its staff complement with highly skilled individuals in the CRM & BI fields, but also becomes the local reseller & implementation partner for the internationally acclaimed PowerOlap (BI) and SalesLogix (CRM) products. SalesLogix recently became one of the world`s largest CRM players through its acquisitions of Act and Interact, and will play a significant role in positioning Insys as a leading CRM player in the South Africa market. In addition to the new CRM and BI divisions, Insys will continue with its current business operations that includes an ERP division, supporting the Epicor product range, e-commerce solutions and Business Services product development. "We see the above as the start of a series of strategic acquisitions that are planned for the current financial year, thus enabling us to progress further towards a JSE main board in the not too distant future," commented Brian Packham, Managing Director of Insys Business Solutions.
