Integr8 IT, South Africa`s largest privately owned national BEE ICT network integration and infrastructure management specialist, has been named the continent`s `Most Innovative ICT company of 2007`.
Management received the accolade from organisers of the African ICT Achievers Awards 2007, held recently in Johannesburg.
The event is widely regarded as the ICT sector’s own `Oscar` awards, and serves as a means by which industry acknowledges both individual and corporate achievement.
This year, Integr8 IT, an established local ICT company with national presence and a comprehensive managed ICT service portfolio, was an African ICT Achievers finalist in four categories, including Top ICT Workplace Provider; Most Innovative ICT Company; Top Private Sector CIO; and Top ICT Business Man.
Management was delighted with the company`s performance and beamed over the announcement of its victory in claiming the award for its competence and levels of innovation.
Accepting the award, Robert Sussman, joint MD of Integr8 IT, credited his partners, directors as well as executive management team members, and further acknowledged the people that have joined the team to take the company forward.
"We are very proud to receive this acknowledgement, which is audited proof that our technology and services continue to receive accreditation and global recognition," says Sussman.
"This particular award is exceptionally competitive and is bestowed on a business that is ahead of the curve of the 18-month cycle of technology development, supply and adoption on the continent."
The company was also selected among the top three nominees for additional awards, namely Top ICT Workplace Provider (with Accenture and IBM), Top Private Sector CIO, and Top ICT Business Man awards (with the CEO of DiData).
"Aside from this being an opportunity to showcase our strength in the market, of which we are very proud, it also serves as a reminder of the fact that we are 100% committed to Africa and totally African owned, with our interest comprehensively re-invested into the region," adds Sussman.
Integr8 IT has established a fully operational office in Botswana, manned by local employees and servicing the growing technology needs of that market.
According to Sussman, Integr8 IT Botswana represents the company`s gateway to the rest of the continent and is central to its strategy to engage with current and emerging market segments in Africa.

As far as direction of the company and its plans in the region are concerned, Sussman says accomplishment and activity to date is incredible and exciting, but is only a beginning in comparison to where Integr8 IT is going.
