South African network integration and service specialist Integr8 IT has been selected as the sole Sub-Sahara Africa Intel Channel Partner of the Intel Itanium 2-based server for 2003. As sole solution providers, the only National Microsoft Gold Partner in more than one region for Enterprise Systems as well as being Intel Premier Providers, Integr8 IT is poised to strengthen its position in the market and add greater value to Intel`s channel customer base.
Integr8 IT is the sole Intel channel service and solution provider for the latest Intel server technology running the 64-bit version of Microsoft Windows Server 2003. The company will work closely with Intel to deliver product support and service.

The open, standards-based architecture of the Itanium Processor Family is opening up the 64-bit market with more flexibility than ever before.
In the past HP-UX could only run on HP`s platform, AIX only on IBM`s platforms, Tru-64 only on Compaq`s and Solaris only on Sun`s platform. It was therefore a single vender platform environment. The standards-based architecture of the Itanium Processor Family open the door to companies to choose between a variety of operating systems to run on their Intel Itanium processor based server. Itanium(R) 2-based systems maximize flexibility with multi-vendor choice of platforms and software with increasing availability in the coming year.
