Network specialists Integr8 IT has taken over a proactive national support contract with Rex Trueform, ranked among the region`s top clothing manufacturing and distribution groups.
Rex Trueform owns Queenspark, a clothing outlet with 40 stores nationwide. The deal means Integr8 IT will provide 24-hour continuous network support and connectivity for these stores. The outlets also leverage off Integr8 IT`s current knowledge base.
According to Integr8 IT`s technical director, Robert Sussman, the company is more than capable of providing the right service and support to take care of its clients` unique networking requirements
"One of the unique aspects about Rex Trueform, in terms of our service offering, is that Queenspark have 40 branches across SA. They needed a company that is able to supply them with superior service in order to support the network infrastructure. Each branch houses a Microsoft NT server and runs on Lotus."
The essence of Integr8 IT`s service offering lies in the fact that it takes on a proactive approach. As Sussman explains, this is of paramount importance to the retailer`s business.
"We`re providing a proactive service here. We are not going to wait for the servers to go down - if those servers go down, branches close and people cannot do business. We are really talking about being available to support trade, helping to fulfil the responsibilities of large factory outlets - it forms a core part of our overall support."
Through this service level agreement, Integr8 IT is also involved with and exposed to certain projects.
One example is the current process of addressing the licensing audits of the entire group. This includes complete Novell, Microsoft, Lotus, WinZip and Antivirus backup drives to make the group 100% compliant.
Another is migrating Rex Trueform`s entire infrastructure to Windows 2000.
"We are going to be responsible for active directory design and implementation," adds Sussman.
Sussman also highlights Integr8 IT`s vital role in providing and managing full leased-line connectivity between the retailer`s offices. All branches need to be in contact with a central head office. The system is based on a wide area network (WAN) and as such, all national office lines run into a central branch. When a new store is opened, Integr8 IT provides leased-line connectivity, routers and the assurance that interfaces are talking.
Gerald Radowsky, IT manager at Rex Trueform, confirms that despite the fact that the relationship is only a few months old, Integr8 IT has already proven its worth and capability.
