Technicians from local network integration and infrastructure management specialist Integr8 IT have participated in high-level product training in the state of Virginia in the US and reinforced their knowledge of CA`s Message Manager, formerly known as Assentor.
The training took place at CA`s Illumin Division located at Reston, Virginia. This extension of CA`s business was established after the global solution provider`s purchase of Illumin.
According to Robert Sussman, joint-MD of Integr8 IT, the training will help technical staff and improve levels of support and service to the local market.

CA Message Manager is a suite of products designed to reinforce and streamline e-mail management, storage and processing. These products include Compliance, Archiving, Mailbox Manager and Discovery.

"The compliance side of things is really where this suite shines above competitors. Assentor was originally designed with this specific purpose in mind. It is highly customisable and allows the end-user to modify rules according to needs," says Dednam.
"There are two ways to configure compliance - pre-review and post-review. In a pre-review scenario the Mail processor is part of the mail flow and basically intercepts incoming and outgoing e-mail. Mail can then be quarantined, depending on the rules that are configured. The benefit is that any e-mails not adhered to the rules will not leave the client`s site. In other words, if Message Manager is configured to quarantine messages that contain profanity, these messages will not leave the organisation unless an authorised person specifically releases it from quarantine," he adds.
CA Message Manager uses a built-in Natural Language Processor which increases the accuracy of decisions pertaining to messages to be quarantined.
"In a post-review scenario the Mail Processor will receive a copy of the e-mails and will not be part of the mail flow. The benefit of this is that there is no delay in quarantined messages waiting to be released; however, this also means that no messages can be stopped from leaving the organisation," Dednam continues.
Other features including Mail Box Manager, Archiving and Discovery also add to the overall e-mail management process and cover important aspects such as e-mail retrieval and storage.
