Robert Sussman, joint-MD of Integr8 IT, a national network integration and ICT infrastructure management specialist, has been shortlisted in the IT Personality of the Year competition, presented by the Computer Society of South Africa (CSSA) in association with the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS), Gartner Africa and ITWeb.
The annual competition focuses on the contribution and achievements of individuals operating with the ICT sector. Sussman joins the ranks of previous shortlisted candidates including the CEO of SITA, CIO South African Post Office, IT Director of City of Johannesburg as well as the CIO of SARS.
Among the criteria considered by the judges are: a person who has achieved success in establishing a respected IT organisation or business; a person who has made a significant and ongoing contribution towards the IT profession; a person who has made a significant technical or academic contribution to the industry; and an individual who has contributed towards the development needs of the community.
The panel of judges has compiled a shortlist of 10 nominees from the hundreds of nominations and the competition has now entered the public voting stage.
This list has been placed on the ITWeb Web site for public voting until 6 October. Based on this response and insight into the candidate`s achievements, the panel will select five finalists for the award. The winner will be announced at the CSSA President`s Banquet, to be held at the Sandton Sun & Towers Hotel, on Wednesday, 26 October.

The winner will be announced at the CSSA President`s Banquet on Wednesday, 26 October.
