Microsoft Certified Gold Partner Integr8 IT has been nominated as a 2003 Partner Award finalist in the Security Solution of the Year category at the sixth annual Worldwide Microsoft Partner Summit. The company will represent the Eastern Europe/Middle East/Africa region in this international event that takes place in New Orleans, USA, in October.
International Microsoft Certified Partners and Business Solutions Partners from five global regions (Western Europe, Asia/South Pacific, Eastern Europe/Middle East/Africa, Latin America and North America) have entered award programme submissions based on specific criteria.
The awards recognise innovation and solutions using Microsoft technologies. More than 1 000 entries from around the world were considered for awards in 16 different categories.
"Integr8 IT was selected because of its innovative use of Microsoft`s latest technologies that offer outstanding solutions to customers. It was an honour for us to receive so many creative and innovative examples of partners meeting customer needs with our technology," says Allison Watson, Vice-President, Worldwide Partner Sales and Marketing Group at Microsoft, "and Integr8 IT clearly stood out in a crowded field of high-quality entries we received."
"We use technologies such as IPSec and intrusion detection mechanisms to secure network traffic. Microsoft policy tools meant a reduction in unauthorised changes to the environment on all appropriate machines and therefore provide a proper managed platform. By further delegating Active Directory/Exchange privileges the client achieved a stronger change control and reduced operator error. Group policy auditing also enabled us to track security breaches and isolate those areas," explains Francois Conradie, Integr8 IT Manager, Cape Town.
"Our choice for securing Internet/extranet traffic fell on Microsoft ISA server which allowed native integration into Active Directory for authentication and also fitted perfectly into the DMZ buffer scenario. This meant an end-end security content control for the client on multiple levels and a stable, secure IT infrastructure," he adds.
