National network integration and infrastructure management specialist Integr8 IT has been selected as the official information technology partner to a national ICT training and vocational guidance initiative known as the National Centre for Self Knowledge Academy (NCSK).
Based in Johannesburg`s CBD, NCSA is scheduled to be officially launched later this month and is targeted at historically disadvantaged individuals who want to enter the field of IT/ICT. It is positioned as a nation-building project, funded through government and corporate partnership and collaboration, to provide holistic professional skills development and training for employability and business development of SMMEs for job creation.
The service level agreement with Integr8 IT will ensure NCSK has all the necessary IT infrastructure (software and hardware), services and support for its entire national operation - including setup, configuration and maintenance of all equipment and systems.
In addition, the comprehensive ICT base will enable full connectivity with sponsors (government, social and corporate) as well as with current and prospective students and eventually form the network between digital villages that will be established in key regions throughout the country.
"We are delighted to have Integr8 IT on board as our official ICT partner. This is absolutely critical to our operation and, in terms of skills development, a core focus of the institution. We believe we have partnered with a company with a proven track record in the provision of reliable networking and technology services for local and international clients," says Charmaine Modjadji, executive director of NCSK
The company was recently identified as Microsoft`s top Small Business Partner worldwide, a feat not yet matched by any company in Africa.
"This is proof that, collectively, Africa has the capability, resources, skills and tenacity to operate at the highest global levels, amid strong international competition. Our focus has to be on utilising resources, building people and encouraging growth and development of our science and IT fields," says Bennie Strydom, IT manager at Integr8 IT.
Integr8 IT`s joint-managing directors Lance Fanaroff and Robert Sussman believe the company has a specific role to play in helping to address key education-related issues of affordable, sustainable access to reliable technology, all-round training and skills development.
"Integr8 IT has been identified for its knowledge and expertise in the area of network and infrastructure management. Our business model is based on tailoring solutions around the needs of clients. We are a solution-driven company that has been built up through hard work and the support of our partners. Businesses in SA should encourage any initiative that empowers individuals to overcome adversity," says Fanaraoff.
"We are pleased to be involved with this ongoing project and look forward to laying down the platform for reliable connectivity between digital villages, an exciting and very necessary vehicle for knowledge transfer and practical application of IT skills," adds Sussman.
