Integrated voice recording for Nortel call centres

Johannesburg, 23 Nov 2001

Grintek Telecom has expanded its already extensive voice recording product range with the IDVR, an integrated digital voice-recording card that slots directly into the Nortel Networks Meridian PABX cabinets.

Says Grintek's Hylton Tiedt: "The new IDVR, which is exclusive to Grintek Telecom, is a voice recording system designed to integrate directly into a customer's PABX system to provide flexible PABX-level recording, voice compression and smart logging without the need for extensive additional cabling. The system can be linked to an IDVR server for archiving calls to DVD-RAM and connected to the customer's existing LAN via an Ethernet hub for administration and replay.

"IDVR's tight integration into the PABX eases access to additional call parameters and features, including caller identity, agent identity, handset record indicator, while reducing cabling and cable management requirements. In addition, IDVR requires less software, hardware and cabling overhead for advanced CTI-enhanced recording, eliminating the need for TAPI and proprietary CTI server and database resources. IDVR offers not only extensive rule-based voice recording, compression and archiving facilities but also quality monitoring and record-on-demand functionality."

Adds Tiedt: "IDVR complements Grintek's existing voice recording solutions and is available as an option for its Nortel Networks customer contact and call centre solutions."
