Integrating with BPM

Business Objects and Savvion have signed a technology partnership to integrate with actionable business processes, reports CXO Today.

Patrick Morrissey, senior VP of marketing business development at Savvion, says: "BPM software provides the final step so organisations can leverage the most out of their BI solutions."

Wyatt Mullin, VP of global ISV channels at Business Objects, added: "Integrating BI and BPM creates a perfect marriage and offers organisations a powerful way to transform their business and achieve competitive advantage."

MS participates in BPM Webcast

Business process management software company Bluespring Software will host an educational Webcast in conjunction with Microsoft and Forrester Research, reports Market Wire.

The Webcast, to take place on Thursday, features Colin Teubner from Forrester Research as a keynote speaker. Teubner is a manager for Forrester's Wave evaluation methodology and his work covers business process management methodologies and tools for human-centric processes.

Topics to be covered include a demonstration of the software at work and case studies. Registration can be done online.

Forrester evaluates BPM suites

Forrester Research says Vitria Technology topped the 'strong performer' category in its December 2006 evaluation of integration-centric business process management suites, according to PR News Wire.

Forrester's evaluation also cited Resolution Accelerator, Vitria's software for managing business process exceptions, as "the industry's most sophisticated business event management product".

"We are delighted that Forrester highlighted so many strengths in Vitria's software," said CEO Dale Skeen. "It is particularly appropriate that Resolution Accelerator received such recognition, since our customers have found it can significantly reduce costs and processing delays while increasing revenue."

The latest release of webMethods' flagship product suite delivers a unified environment for process development, and monitoring. It is highlighted by the introduction of webMethods BPMS as a newly available component of the product suite.

This business process management suite includes an Eclipse-based process modelling environment for codeless development, support for both human-to-human and system-to-system task flow, business rules management, and a new semantic metadata library.
