Intel launches Marketing Development Fund for registered resellers

Intel has launched a new program to help its Intel e-Business Network members to stretch their marketing budgets. Called the Channel Marketing Development Fund Program (CMDF), it is open to all Intel program members, including Intel Product Integrators (IPI), Intel Authorised Network Resellers (IANR), Intel Internet Service Providers (ISP) and Intel Premier Providers.

"The CMDF Program is a market development fund program intended to allow Intel e-Business Network members to accrue certain percentages of the reported selling price of CMDF program qualifying product (Intel Communications and Networking products) purchases into a Market Development Fund (MDF)," says Melanie Spencer, programs manager at Intel distributor AXiZ. "Purchases must be made through an official Intel distributor in order to qualify."

"This MDF can then be used to help fund specified activities such as trade shows, seminars, print advertisements on Intel products, and Intel Certification training courses. With the CMDF program, qualifying resellers are able to choose how to spend the marketing rands earned from a wide range of Intel specified marketing activities."

To become a member of the Channel Marketing Development Fund Program, Intel e-Business Network members simply complete the CMDF Program Agreement form, available at http://program.intel.com/shared/emea/en/resource/cmdf/index.htm

To facilitate this, Intel has established a start up fund for CMDF Program Members based on purchases of Intel communications and /or Networking products from 1st April 2000 through 30th June 2000, as reported by Intel authorised distributors. This start up fund will be available for immediate claims.

"The CMDF Program allows Intel e-Business Network Members to accrue a certain percentage of the reported selling price of CMDF Program Accrual Qualifying Products," says Spencer. "Intel e-Business Network members will accrue 3% of the reported selling price of Intel Networking products from Intel Authorised Distributors into the CMDF Program."

Costs are reimbursed for print advertising, direct mailshots, Intel Certification training and examination costs (passed exam only), and Intel approved trade show, event and seminar participation costs.
