Intel launches NetStructureSM Support Services

Johannesburg, 31 Mar 2000

Service organization provides reliable, flexible support for Intel-networked businesses

Intel today announced Intel NetStructureSM Support Services, a comprehensive service portfolio designed to help meet the growing support requirements of companies deploying sophisticated and communications products to transact e-Business. The services will be sold and supported by Intel`s broad of value added resellers (VARs) and solutions providers dedicated to supporting Intel`s leadership, Intel NetStructure products, and other Intel networking and communications devices.

Intel NetStructure Support Services include phone, hardware and software subscription support contracts; comprehensive support contracts; and product installation support. The services support all NetStructure products, as well as existing Intel switches, hubs, access and VPN products, and routers.

Intel NetStructure Support Services are part of the Intel NetStructure family of communications products and services, announced in February. The products target a new category of value-added infrastructure appliances and networking communications equipment for building or improving e-Businesses and are designed to be easily deployed and complement companies` existing network and server environment.

Intel NetStructure Support Services can be purchased through VARs in conjunction with initial product sales, allowing them to grow their service revenue, strengthen long-term customer relationships and increase opportunities for repurchase. Services can also be purchased separately, after the product purchase.

With Intel NetStructure Support Services, VARs can offer a full-featured menu of services designed for flexibility, allowing customers to select the services that meet their needs. One- and three-year contracts provide affordable choices, providing users with a more accurate total cost of ownership at the time of purchase. Professional installations and on-site services delivered by trained experts provide confidence and peace of mind that products are installed correctly and maintained properly. Live 7x24 phone support helps ensure maximum network uptime with around-the-clock access to technical experts.

"With Intel NetStructure Support Services, VARs can provide their customers peace of mind with the assurance that their Intel networking and communications products are properly installed and maintained throughout their lifecycle," said Jacques van Schalkwyk, Regional Sales Manager, Networking and Communications, Intel MMAR. According to Infonetics, 74 percent of respondents identified post-sales service and support as an important criterion in selecting a product manufacturer*.

Intel NetStructure Support Services are available starting today in certain regions of the Americas, Europe and Asia. Expansion plans in these regions will continue throughout 2000 and beyond, beginning in the Americas and Europe, and followed by Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Africa. Prices will vary depending upon the service and products purchased; detailed pricing information is available at www.intel.com/network/services.htm.

All Intel networking and communications products are available worldwide through a network of distributors and value-added resellers.
