Inter-Active announces partnership with Tennyson Networks Australia

Johannesburg, 12 Oct 2001

Inter-Active Technologies, a new entrant into the South African convergent communications market, has established a working relationship with Tennyson Networks Australia, a leading provider of innovative solutions to the high speed communication markets since 1989.

This relationship will ensure the complete delivery of a solutions, products and services package suited to the below 100 port voice and data communications customer base in SA.

Working closely together, Inter-Active and Tennyson aim to become the leading role players in the provision of products and services to the local Unified Voice, Data, Internet and Video communications market.

On his recent visit to SA, Leigh Coleman, CEO of Tennyson Networks, clearly identified the market potential in this country. Through the partnership with Inter-Active Technologies, Coleman believes: "We have the right blend of product, local determination and professionalism to make this thing work."

As part of the ongoing relationship through the Tennyson development programme and the local marketing drive, Inter-Active and Tennyson will work together on the positioning of the award-winning SOX (Small Business Exchange) from Tennyson which has been developed specifically to meet all the communication needs of businesses. The SOX combines a top of the line telephone system with an integral LAN Hub and Router, which takes the product into the realm of true LAN-based unified telephony.

Coupled with the strength and functionality of sending and receiving faxes directly from the desktop, receiving e-mails, voicemail and faxes all in the same inbox, the SOX also has a fully integrated CRM and Call Centre application.

Brendan van Staaden, CEO of Inter-Active Technologies, was excited at the prospect of "at last having a totally integrated solution for small to medium business that is serious about the way they wish to interact with their customers".

The Inter-Active head office has become the South African "Flag" site for the new products and services. A fully operational SOX system has been implemented in the local offices in Bryanston, where the call centre and LAN functionality of this product is constantly being put to the test in a real-time working environment.

Van Staaden explains: "We decided to install SOX right from the beginning, to get through the teething phase with the least disruption to business. To date we are fully functional, running MS Exchange 2000 on our integrated LAN PABX. The virtual phones on our call centre operator desks are massively practical and the functionality of the integrated CRM, call centre application and unified fax, voicemail and e-mail is beyond belief for the type of market niche the SOX is aimed to serve."

Technologist for Tennyson South Africa and Inter-Active Technologies, Duncan Ogilvie, confirmed the Tennyson commitment to the South African market: "We are developing the Flag site at Inter-Active to provide realistic and functional solutions to any customer wishing to come and see what the system is about." The SOX is already available in SA and is strongly supported by Inter-Active Technologies.

Ogilvie adds: "We have trained technicians, Microsoft certified specialists and Bluetooth-ready technical wizards that will ensure that the products and services provided locally are of the highest order."
