Interactive Intelligence Inc (Nasdaq: ININ), a global developer of business communications software, has completed integration of its IP PBX platform with the recently released Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 Unified Messaging solution.
The integration enables the Interactive Intelligence IP telephony platform, which provides SIP-based voice over IP switching, automatic call distribution, speech-enhanced interactive voice response, and additional communications applications for the contact centre and enterprise, to work with Exchange Server 2007 Unified Messaging.
The combined solution, which was jointly tested by Interactive Intelligence and Microsoft, minimises the cost and complexity of custom integration. It also gives customers the productivity benefits of Microsoft's Exchange Server 2007 Unified Messaging capabilities, along with the customer service and cost-saving benefits of the Interactive Intelligence contact centre automation and enterprise IP telephony applications.
"Our standards-based, converged applications architecture that's been running on Windows servers since 1997 gives customers a proven solution backed by a wealth of experience developing and supporting Microsoft-based technologies for IP business communications," said Joseph A Staples, senior vice-president of worldwide marketing for Interactive Intelligence. "We believe we offer a clear advantage by extending to Microsoft customers the unique benefits of our IP PBX platform, including our direct support of SIP, for even greater cost reductions, increased interoperability, and access to enhanced, award-winning applications."
"Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 Unified Messaging offers customers robust, interoperable, server-based tools that integrate with desktop and mobile clients to give information workers access to voice, fax, and e-mail data from wherever they are, including the ability to manage their e-mail, calendar, and personal contacts via the phone," said Ray Mohrman, Microsoft Corp's group product manager, unified communications group. "Direct SIP interoperability further reduces the cost and complexity of deploying Exchange Server 2007 Unified Messaging."
The Interactive Intelligence IP PBX platform was developed as an all-in-one unified communications software suite. Its scalable, standards-based, single-platform architecture has been deployed by more than 2 500 customers worldwide, including large, multinational firms, such as Amway, BMW, Ceridian, Computershare, Eli Lilly and Company, Honda, Oracle, Research In Motion, and Volvo.
The combined Interactive Intelligence and Microsoft solution is targeted at mid-sized to large organisations, including those with distributed and mobile workers.
The Interactive Intelligence IP PBX integration for Exchange Server 2007 Unified Messaging is available immediately.
