interBiz Supply Chain Group offers trio of new products leveraging corporate technologies

Leveraging the technologies of the newly created interBiz Solutions division of Computer Associates International, Inc. (CA) and its sister business units, interBiz Supply Chain Group today announced the availability of three new business management products. interBiz Supply Chain Group is a business unit of CA.

The three products were brought to market through the combined synergetic efforts of the development teams at the business unit and division levels. They include:

.         interBiz WebTrade, the group`s first order entry product;

.         interBiz Reports, a client/server report writer that delivers desktop- and server-based reporting across multiple, large databases; and

.         Advanced Financials Option, a world-class, comprehensive, multi-currency general ledger system offering support for multinational, multicompany, and multidivision enterprises in journal, budget and allocation processing.

"By leveraging the technologies of interBiz Solutions and its sister business units, we are able to offer our clients these leading-edge products, and do so faster than we would have ever been able to do under the independent business unit structure," said John McCarron, general manager of interBiz Supply Chain Group.

interBiz Supply Chain Group was created with the joint resources of CA`s Acacia Technologies and the MK Group, which operated as independent business units from April 1996 through May 1999. The group is part of CA`s new interBiz Solutions division, which was formed in April 1999 to assist worldwide clients, suppliers, and partners capitalize on e-commerce business opportunities.

interBiz WebTrade

interBiz WebTrade is a business-to-business electronic commerce solution that allows companies to accept sales orders via the Internet. The initial offering is designed to complement the business unit`s AS/400-based Enterprise Resource Planning solution, PRMS. The interface between interBiz WebTrade and PRMS is included with the product.

The product is the business unit`s first Internet-based product offering. Companies can use interBiz WebTrade to create an online product catalog that accommodates pictures and descriptive information of each product. Unlike similar products on the market, the product is ready to install "out-of-the-box," without the need for a product "tool kit" for customizations.

interBiz WebTrade also marks the first time the business unit has offered a product in multiple language versions simultaneously at the initial roll-out. The product is available in English, French, Spanish, German, Swedish and Italian.

interBiz Reports

interBiz Reports is a robust, client/server report writer that delivers desktop- and server-based reporting across multiple, large databases. Using the product, clients can combine multiple queries from multiple databases into a single report. The product includes a "Wizard" functionality that helps users develop reports quickly and easily from a Windows or Motif interface.

The product has a simple-to-use interface that allows users to customize the product to work on a beginner or expert level. interBiz Reports is flexible enough to allow report creation that can range from ad hoc analysis to formalized monthly production reports.

Advanced Financials Option

The interBiz Advanced Financials Option (AFO) provides the global accounting user with a powerful, multi-currency, multi-company, and multi-dimensional financial management solution. The AFO includes an extended interface between PRMS and the world-class general ledger system from Masterpiece/Net, a robust, enterprise financial management solution marketed by interBiz Financial Group, also a business unit of CA. AFO provides flexible organization and account structures, superior functionality, comprehensive auditing capabilities and a financial reporting system that provides dynamic access to general ledger account . The product offers:

.         A highly flexible account structure and processing

.         The ability to keep multiple fiscal sets for maintenance of multi-year actuals, budgets, forecasts

.         Powerful, customizable financial reporting including capture and summarization of information from all sub ledgers

Masterpiece/Net is a comprehensive, Web-enabled enterprise financial management solution accommodating the multi-organizational, multinational and multi-currency needs of thousands of organizations worldwide. Masterpiece/Net includes General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Purchasing, Inventory Control, Fixed , Job Cost, Labor Distribution, Fund Accounting, Draft Services, and powerful query, reporting and analysis tools.
