In June, the focus of international businesses will be on SAS Forum International 2004. More than 2 000 senior executives from over 45 countries will convene in Copenhagen to network with and learn how their peers are strategically using information to improve all facets of corporate decision-making.

Spanning 10 industries, the conference will feature 140 presentations by CEOs, CFOs, CMOs, CIOs and other senior-level managers from companies that include Amazon.com, Barclays UK Consumer Finance, Credit Lyonnais, Marks & Spencer and Morgan Stanley.

In light of the challenges facing organisations in 2004, this year's event will focus on four key areas:

* The role of the CEO in championing corporate governance.
* Transforming regulatory compliance into a competitive advantage.
* How marketers are increasing the value of existing customers.
* IT as a profit, performance and productivity driver.

"What began 22 years ago as a showcase for SAS products has evolved into the most extensive peer-to-peer business intelligence conference outside the US," said Art Cooke, president of SAS International. "The strategic use of business intelligence by the presenters at SAS Forum International is driving unprecedented levels of competitiveness and profitability. In Copenhagen, attendees will be able to meet and hear directly from among the world's most forward-thinking organisations."

As always, the focus of SAS Forum International will be on sharing best practices between customers. Two of the three days are focused exclusively on end-user presentations. Throughout the three days, the agenda maximises the sharing of information and ideas among attendees.

"2003 was the first time that I have attended myself, as I usually send others to attend, and I am so glad I came. I learned so much about all the SAS solutions, and I created more work for myself because now I want to get and use more SAS solutions," said Estelita C Aguirre, deputy commissioner of the Bureau of Internal Revenue, Republic of the Philippines.

Richard King, director of marketing at SAS International, added: "2004 is the highest-quality SAS Forum International ever. This year the number of customer papers received significantly exceeded the number of speaking slots available. As a result, the value of the selected sessions will be unprecedented."
