World leaders in e-business and enterprise networking have announced support for Novell`s newly introduced NDS eDirectory and NDS Corporate Edition software, including plans to use the Novell products as the basis for new applications and services. Partners voicing support for NDS eDirectory include Internet portals and dot-com companies, computer and network equipment manufacturers, application software developers, service and solutions providers, and other companies taking advantage of directory-based solutions to extend their market reach and more effectively serve their customers.
NDS eDirectory provides Novell partners with a software foundation that simplifies e-business relationships, integrates information for use by multiple applications and enables new products and services. The new Novell software supports high-volume Internet services, as well as directory-enabled enterprise applications such as policy-based management of network equipment. NDS eDirectory runs across NetWare, NT and Solaris ? and soon Linux , Compaq Tru64 and Windows 2000 platforms, allowing customers to deploy new services and applications on their systems of choice.
Internet leaders joining Novell to introduce NDS eDirectory include: AltaVista Company, AOL, Business Layers, BroadVision, CNN, Compaq Computer Corporation, enCommerce, Entrust Technologies, Eprise Corporation, HAHT Software, Indus River Networks, JetForm Corporation, Lucent Technologies, Metastorm, Netegrity, Oblix, PeopleSoft, Perot Systems Corporation, Red Hat, Sun Microsystems and Whittman-Hart.

Sun Microsytems, a leading provider of network computing, announced an agreement with Novell to engage in joint marketing and solution initiatives for NDS eDirectory and NDS Corporate Edition products on the Sun platform.
AltaVista Company, the premier new media and commerce network, announced that it`s relying on Novell`s NDS eDirectory to provide Internet management and security for AltaVista`s messaging service.
BroadVision will work together to integrate Novell`s eDirectory with the BroadVision One-To-One family of e-business applications.
Whittman-Hart, a leading provider of enterprise-wide e-business solutions for fast-growing and middle-market companies, announced plans to leverage Novell`s eDirectory to enhance its existing e-business strategy, named Envision, Empower, Engage, Extend, by building a series of e-solutions incorporating NDS technology. With this technology, the Whittman-Hart/Novell solutions will help companies empower their employees, engage their customers and extend their enterprises.
Directory-enabled applications leader, Oblix, Inc., announced that its e-business solution interoperates with NDS eDirectory. This solution leverages the power of NDS eDirectory to keep user information up to date in an e-business environment.
Business Layers, a directory-based eProvisioning solutions provider, announced an agreement with Novell to bundle NDS eDirectory as part of its eProvisionware solutions. The agreement will boost businesses` ability to deploy and maintain complex "profile-based" e-business relationships.
