A new company, Interprise, has been formed to provide cost-effective Internet services to the SoHo and the SME markets through a quick and efficient domain registration service, virtual e-mail set up, hosting, dialup connectivity and e-commerce solutions.
The company is headed by two ex-GIA members, Pat Wallace and Sandra Myburgh, who have spent a total of ten years in the Internet field.
Interprise, according to Wallace, has a strong reseller program and a growing dealer database of more than 4000 small business-focussed resellers. The company provides different types of services and benefits to resellers, as well as a choice of payment systems - annuity or once off payments.
Interprise offers unlimited traffic on its SME hosting solution. "There are no traffic charges or hidden costs; customers pay a constant fee each month no matter how much traffic their site uses."
The company also has a database of Web developers nation-wide and acts as a mediator to assist customers in choosing developers to suit them.
"Customers are also able to register their domains online and establish their cyber identity, giving them independence from a particular ISP," Wallace points out. "With an average of 80 new domain names being registered each day on the Internet in South Africa alone, it is imperative for companies to register their domain names before someone else does," she warns.
Interprise has established partnership agreements with Mustek, Vodacom World Online, SetCom and Emmerce. Mustek is currently bundling Interprise`s starter kits with Mustek`s PCs, while Interprise assists World Online in reaching the dealer channel with its products.
SetCom and Emerce are e-commerce service providers that have close relationships with FNB and Nedbank respectively. Interprise is thus able to pass transactions into FNB and Nedbank, plus offer inexpensive e-commerce solutions which are tailor-made to suit the SME/SoHo markets.
The company has a Cape Town branch and plans to open an offshore office in the future.
