InterSystems 2005 Symposium focuses on differentiation through innovation

Johannesburg, 30 Jun 2005

InterSystems SA is hosting its third South African Symposium, entitled "Build Competitive-Edge Through Innovation", on 6 and 7 July at the Park Hyatt Hotel in Rosebank, Johannesburg.

The company will focus on how CACH'E, the company`s high-speed post-relational database, and Ensemble, its universal integration platform, enable the rapid creation and fast integration of high-performance applications.

"We will be joined by international InterSystems experts who will share the latest information and technology developments with our current and prospective partners and customers," says InterSystems SA country manager Henry Adams.

"Through a variety of presentations and demonstrations, delegates will have a chance to see how the right IT infrastructure can deliver real-time information, enabling companies to make informed decisions and improve business performance. They will discover how to build competitive advantage through innovation, while leveraging the most out of their existing IT investment."

InterSystems has also secured Gartner analyst Willie Appel as a keynote speaker at this, the company`s premier partner event. The topic of Appel`s presentation is "Integration, Innovation and Measurement: The Path to Business Breakthrough Performance".

Other topics for discussion include rapid integration using InterSystems technologies, migrating SQL Server and Sybase applications to CACH'E, developing with XML and Web services in CACH'E, developing in Java with CACH'E or Ensemble, performance analysis, and business activity monitoring and dashboards.

Also on the agenda is a look at orchestration, business process language (BPL), and the Ensemble rules engine. "Orchestration is the process of defining the `integration logic` that combines data and functionality from disparate applications in order to implement an enterprise-wide business process or workflow. Ensemble developers can orchestrate business processes by writing code, or by using Ensemble`s XML-based BPL. We will look at BPL and Ensemble`s graphical business process modelling tool. We will also introduce Ensemble`s new rules engine, which allows the creation of reusable business processes that can be customised by client organisations to fit their particular business practices."
