InterSystems and some of the company`s South African partners will exhibit at Futurex from 17 to 20 May, demonstrating the power of real-world applications based on the company`s technology.
Solutions include applications developed on a sophisticated, yet user-friendly post-relational database as well as the latest in enterprise application integration (EAI) solutions.
"InterSystems will provide Futurex attendees with an in-depth insight into the power of CACH'E, a post-relational database," says Henry Adams, country manager for InterSystems SA. "CACH'E combines object technology with high-performance SQL and rich multidimensional data access, providing a rapid development environment for Web and client-server applications."
"CACH'E runs on a variety of platforms, including Windows, Linux, OpenVMS and major Unix releases. The database is so scalable it has been deployed in organisations comprising of two users to large corporations with over 10 000 simultaneous users."
InterSystems will also demonstrate Ensemble, its universal integration platform that contains all the functionality required to handle any type of integration project. "Ensemble is a fusion of architecturally consistent technologies for integration, development, deployment and management of composite applications that preserve and extend legacy systems," Adams adds.
World-class software
A number of InterSystems SA partners have recently launched applications based on CACH'E. Two partners will be on the InterSystems stand in Hall 1, D17 - 20, to introduce their world-beating systems.
Web Accounting Solutions will demonstrate its Web-based accounting suite, Accknowledge. The system resides on a server, behind corporate security and privacy protection, while users access the full suite of accounting modules using a browser via an intranet or the Internet. Accknowledge is a full-featured accounting solution comprising general ledger, debtors, creditors, inventory and multi-warehousing. The application supports unlimited transactions, unlimited financial years, job costing, multi-currency and multilingual support.
Another long-time InterSystems partner, Intrepid Solutions, will demonstrate its browser-based Web application development tool, Portico. Instead of requiring developers to sit behind powerful computers with tens of thousands of rands worth of software on their systems, Portico provides programmers with access to a full development environment via the Internet.
"All developers need is a browser and an Internet connection and they can access any functionality they need," reports Adams. "Using Portico, Intrepid Solutions has already built applications for companies around the globe, on the customers` systems. The Intrepid developers sit in SA and access code and data stored on clients` servers, no matter where they are located, reducing development and software costs while allowing customers to have the peace of mind of securing their own source code."
Futurex attendees will be able to talk to InterSystems experts as well as Web Accounting and Intrepid Solutions representatives about how these products can save them time and money, and shorten development cycles. They will also have a chance to find out why InterSystems is the partner of choice for SA`s ISV community and why local software and developers are in demand around the world.
Headquartered in Cambridge, Massachusetts, InterSystems Corporation (www.InterSystems.com) has served the needs of IT organisations and independent software vendors for more than two decades.
