Inthebag is the first online grocer to be eBucks-enabled, providing another convenient and secure payment alternative for online shoppers.
Jessica Knight, CEO of inthebag, says the decision to accept eBucks strengthens the site`s growth plans. "By including eBucks as a payment mechanism, shoppers without credit cards or the Woolworths` charge card can still purchase goods safely on our site," says Knight.
The online eCurrency is available to anyone who wants to convert rands into eBucks. eBucks can also be earned by FirstRand (FNB, Momentum, WesBanke) customers.
Knight says the process will be simple and secure. "On checkout, customers who chose to pay using eBucks will be passed onto the eBucks.com site, and once payment is complete they will return to inthebag for purchase confirmation."
"Going live with best of breed brands such as inthebag is a significant addition for eBucks.com. It offers not only Woolworths customers, but mainstream Web users great online shopping opportunities, giving them a unique payment method that is secure, fast and bank-backed through FirstRand," says Michael Jordaan chief executive of eBucks.com.
"Our focus is to secure partnerships with the most exciting merchants, and we are confident that inthebag offers an incredible innovative online shopping concept that will satisfy customers as it has a wide product offering over and above the Woolworths range. For this reason, we expect inthebag to be one of the biggest online retailers to accept eBucks."
This tie up with inthebag will also support eBucks.com in incentivising customers to migrate onto the Internet so that we can drive business-to-consumer e-commerce in SA," continues Jordaan.
