Inthebag.co.za have significantly reduced the time required for an average `one trolley` shop by 25% with the introduction of significant software enhancements.
Jessica Knight, CEO of inthebag, has always admitted that ongoing site improvements were necessary, and for the busy consumer, online shopping has to be a time-efficient exercise. "With time becoming the most scarce resource, we are gearing up to make consumers` entire shop a fast and efficient exercise, while taking care to uphold our standards of quality and personalised service," say Knight.
"By listening to our customers` difficulties and suggestions we have alleviated lengthy shops through the improvement of site usability and sensible design elements. The spin off to this is the constant improvement to the site`s overall functionality."
Newly appointed Charles Oertel, Chief Information Officer of inthebag, explains that customers will soon be able to personalise and name their standard daily, weekly, and monthly shopping lists to achieve fast `bagging` of pre-selected goods. For new comers, inthebag have enabled the `bagging` of sought after products direct from the search function, for easy location of goods.
While customers` call for speed is of paramount importance, Oertel highlights that time spent on the site should still be seen in context. "Although it might take 45 minutes to shop online, the time spent is a lot shorter than in-store, having to drive, park, select, queue, pack and drive home with the goods."
"The expense of traditional shopping is also alleviated once shoppers select a range of CNA, Makro and Woolworths products through inthebag. The delivery charge of R35 becomes negligible compared to the time and petrol spent on store-to-store outings," explains Oertel.
The service is currently operating in selected suburbs in Cape Town and Johannesburg. Goods are delivered to the home or office the next day (during weekdays), in an agreed time slot between 8am and 10pm, and on Saturday mornings. All major credit cards and the Woolworths charge card are accepted. Visit www.inthebag.co.za or contact the Call Centre on 0860 100987.
