The Sirit range of RFID products is the latest offering from local IT specialist, Roan Systems. Targeted at meeting the global demand for automatic ID systems, Sirit provides both embedded and fixed reader solutions.
The growing number of RFID applications proves that the technology is only limited by the imagination of the user. Recent deals have seen Sirit adopted by companies such as Swiss retailer Manor, for its warehousing and supply chain functions, as well as the 200 hypermarkets, which form part of Germany-based METRO Group's Real brand.
There has also been government support, with the US Government naming Sirit as the preferred reader under its US$75 million programme to provide RFID devices for its Department of Defence, Coast Guard, other Federal Agencies, North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO), Coalition Partners and other Foreign Military Sales over three years. Here, the product range will be required to provide an integrated structure for logistic identification, tracking, locating and monitoring of commodities and assets.
In addition to Sirit's RFID range, Roan will also be distributing the products of Sirit affiliate, RSI ID Technologies, which include RFID antennas, inlays and tags, as well as associated software.
