Tarsus Point-of-Sale (PoS), MB Technologies` local retail technology distribution business, has recently announced it will trade as PC-PoS South Africa. The name change effectively differentiates the company from Tarsus Technologies, the primary distribution arm of MB Technologies.
The newly named company is soon to announce several additions to its existing PoS product line, including a well-known touch screen systems and range of barcode scanners. PC-PoS South Africa will now offer a greater range of value-added services including a full configuration service, of both hardware and software, an on-site installation service, as well as a national maintenance service, and will form key business partnerships in order to achieve this.
Paul Jules, managing director of PC-PoS South Africa, comments, "PC-PoS South Africa is in a strengthened position to secure the most competitive pricing, products, service and support for its existing dealer and customer base."
Tarsus PoS was formed six years ago to focus on the demand for retail technology and has as many years experience as the sole distributors of EpsonOEM products, IBMPoS products and DigiPoS products. Under its new name, PC-PoS SA has also been appointed as an exclusive Cover Plus agent by Epson, and will handle maintenance and repairs.

PC-PoS SA is a distributor of customised point-of-sale solutions. The company markets its own range of products, which include the DigiPoS modular point of sale terminal, as well as an integrated, PC-based touch screen computer. It also supplies products from Epson and IBM, which are distributed throughout Europe, Southern Africa and Australia. in addition, PC-PoS SA has formed a consumables division which will include ink cartridges, printer ribbons and paper rolls for tills.
