For any small business justification of the cost of belonging to any association is one that is normally the last to be considered and often left off the budget. The benefit of belonging to such a society sometimes becomes insignificant when justification is argued and will be compromised to facilitate something more tangible or visible. But this is exactly where the reasoning goes wrong - the benefits of belonging to the Information Technology Association are many, and any small business operating in the IT industry can use the association to its own benefit and growth.
The ITA has restructured its membership fee to assist smaller business to join and make use of the services we offer. A discounted rate is offered to business falling within certain criteria and that rate will apply for the first two years of the business`s existence. Although the new structure only comes into effect from 1 January 2001, the ITA has decided to offer a special concessionary period with immediate effect to provide a 6 month headstart! Members joining immediately, will pay only half of the annual fee and joining fee, and will still enjoy the lower rate from 1 January 2001 for a two year period. It effectively means that business joining now, will enjoy a reduced rate for two and a half years.
Although the ITA currently have offices only in Gauteng and Cape Town, members are still able to join from anywhere in the country. The advent of electronic communication ensures that remote members are fully informed at all times.
