Iocore Consulting wins highest award possible from Nedcor

Iocore`s Consulting division has won one of the highest level awards for contractors from leading financial house Nedcor, in the `s "Going for Gold" incentive program.

Iocore - previously known as NATH (New Africa Technology Holdings) - is a $100m high-technology group employing 1, 000 people worldwide across 14 countries. Key capabilities of the Group include e-commerce, billing systems, ERP, Supply Chain and financial applications. The Group is partially owned by Peregrine Holdings, a division of McCarthy Bank.

Previously, contractors could only win the bronze level in `Going for Gold`. This year Nedcor opened it up to silver level with one of the awards going to Iocore Consulting`s Oracle support team - giving it the highest award possible for contractors.

Nedcor`s national "Going for Gold" co-ordinator for the Technology and Operations Division (T&O), Willie Labuschagne, says the aim of the programme is to recognise unquestionably superior service in both individual and team performance.

"The awards acknowledge effort, commitment and talent, and demonstrate our appreciation of the valued contribution made by individuals to branch, division, and overall organisational success. The `Going for Gold` process attempts to improve productivity on all levels by applying the recognition process principles."

Iocore`s Oracle Support Group`s "Going for Gold" citation reads: "For consistently providing Oracle database availability for customers in the Unix environment through regular monitoring and tuning, thus ensuring that no production outages were experienced over an extended, continuous period.

"Furthermore for the proactive steps being taken to ensure that the production interruptions are reduced and by keeping databases within manageable limits, are ensuring that regular maintenance takes place. Consistent excellent service has proven that the production outages have further decreased on a year-to-year basis. Empowerment of customers and the positive feedback received from the business is ample evidence that this team is delivering over and above what is expected from them.

"The TSG (Technical Support Group) recognised the effort and dedication put in by: Hans Castelyn, Douglas Clarke, Rodney Naidoo, Nadine Rowland, Bradley Green-Thompson, Antoinette de Lange and Kirsten Lawson."
