iOCORE, the Johannesburg-based enterprise business solutions and applications development specialist, has been awarded Oracle Certified Applications Advantage Partner status.
The award represents the highest level of certification for an application developer and is the first to be made to a South African company.
iOCORE, Oracle`s premier business partner in SA, joins only around seven companies with this level of certification in Europe.
The award is significant, says iOCORE CEO, Wade Gomes, in that it was personally ratified by Oracle president Larry Ellison and confirmed by Oracle EMEA in recognition of our achievements not only in Southern Africa but also in Europe where iOCORE is active.
"We are encouraged by the fact that Oracle has recognised our commitment to its products - 60% of our revenue is derived from Oracle projects - and our capability to deliver on time, within specification and within the scope of the project," he says.
Gomes expects the certification to open doors for iOCORE on a global scale. "Our business strategy calls for iOCORE to address opportunities in Europe and the Pacific Rim," he says. "We recently opened an office in London and have plans to enter the US in future, either independently, through a partnership or by acquisition."
Stuart Cohen, Channel Business development manager at Oracle SA, says: "We are particularly proud that a South African partner has achieved this prestigious accreditation. This remarkable achievement comes after a significant investment in Oracle by iOCORE. This has now positioned iOCORE as a credible global player in the industry."
Gomes adds that iOCORE is committed to "shadow" Oracle`s strategy and as such is placing considerable emphasis on Oracle`s FastForward initiative, which is geared to enable companies to fast track software implementations in 90 days or less.
