IOCORE to offer specialist insight at the Oracle User Group Conference

The annual South African Oracle User Group (SAOUG) Conference takes place from 28 to 30 October and as a longstanding partner to the User Group, IOCORE will once again be an active participant.

"IOCORE sees this as an annual opportunity to add value to the approximately 300 delegates representing technology users, corporate decision-makers, business analysts and the Oracle partner community," says Dean Tebbutt, IOCORE Executive - Application Development.

This value is to be found in the wealth of knowledge IOCORE can bring to bear through the specialists at the IOCORE stand, as well as in the papers they deliver. These papers typically cover topical business issues with reference to real-life examples, and offer objective insight into technologies at work.

Etienne Herbst, Principal Consultant at IOCORE, for example, will present a paper on business intelligence (BI), highlighting how companies can achieve competitive advantage with a management information system supported by BI. This is demonstrated by integrating information about your business, customers and competitors using Oracle technology.

"The prime focus of our presence at the conference this year is to make business users aware of how they can capitalise on the investment they have already made in Oracle technology. We want to help them get as much as possible out of what is sitting within their systems," says Tebbutt.

Oracle has been very active in bundling components or products with mainstream technologies and, as a result, is going to market with a number of industry leading solutions. These include the Warehouse Builder, Email Server, interMedia (for storage and scalable management of all types of multimedia data), Spatial Extension (for integrating location and traditional relational attribute data) and Portal solutions.

"Many users are unaware of what is available, and we intend to advise them as to how they can best leverage their existing technology investment," adds Tebbutt.

IOCORE is a longstanding member of the User Group and a significant player in the Oracle market. As a service provider, IOCORE attaches a lot of value to the information exchange opportunities that the conference provides. Not only are the IOCORE specialists able to impart valuable information to users, but the users in turn provide them with an insight into specific, and often common, challenges faced by the modern organisation.

The SAOUG is managed as separate entity from Oracle. It is run by users of Oracle products for users of Oracle products. The annual conference aims to provide current and potential users of Oracle with a forum at which the solutions to individual and corporate challenges are found by providing education, up-to-the-minute information on products, outstanding networking opportunities, case studies and product demonstrations.
