As part of a commitment to drive corporate social responsibility, The IQ Business Group is making sure it`s a company that contributes to its environment. On 3 July the business process company made a trip to the Sandton SPCA to deliver much-needed tin food.
IQ`s social responsibility programme has targeted a number of needy organisations, with Sandton SPCA being just one of them. The group is adamant it is not just talking but is living the corporate social responsibility commitment it has made. Charity really does start at home and since Sandton SPCA is in IQ`s operating vicinity, it made perfect sense.
The drive kicked off on Saturday and involved donating food collected from staff members to the SPCA. The much-needed soft food will be used to strengthen the sick animals back to health, as well as put "some meat onto the bones" of small puppies.
"We do not see this as a once-off, but rather a staff monthly contribution initiative," said Harry Pretorius of The IQ Business Group.
IQ`s corporate social responsibility team has also donated the volunteer time of the staff members and further workshops will be held with the management staff of the SPCA to obtain their wish list and to start planning ongoing initiatives and put them into action.
The team has the full support from CEO, Dirk Ackerman. "IQ strives to be an organisation that is in balance with, and representative of, the society around it - a contributor to the environment in which it finds itself. We are working hard at getting the badge that says: We are a good corporate citizen," says Ackerman. Certainly not lip service.
