IQ`s content management division to resell Venetica software in South African market

Johannesburg, 18 Feb 2003

The content management division of The IQ Business Group, and Venetica, the leading provider of content integration software, today announced a partnership agreement under which The IQ Business Group will be a value-added reseller in South Africa for Venetica.

The IQ Business Group`s Content Management business unit head, Steve Spark, says, "Content integration is a natural complement to our expertise in content management. We recognize that some customers have content management needs while others are looking for better solutions to leverage existing content that lives in disparate systems. Venetica places us in an even stronger position to provide excellent, cost-effective solutions to South African businesses."

VeniceBridge was created to provide customers with a single method for accessing and working with large volumes of content, generated by many separate applications and stored in multiple repositories. VeniceBridge is unique in its ability to provide companies with a single, bi-directional interface to unstructured content, allowing users to leverage existing content and make it available to enterprise applications. According to Gartner Group, content integration efforts will be one of the leading drivers behind enterprise technology through 2007.*

The IQ Business Group says it`s confident that South African companies will quickly see the benefits of leveraging the VeniceBridge solution. Spark says: "It`s an exciting opportunity for The IQ Business Group to help South African companies get ahead of the game, by allowing them to access their wealth of content in the most efficient manner possible. The partnership agreement with Venetica enables The IQ Business Group to offer the South African content user group increased efficiency, as clients can now access multiple repositories through a single interface."

As automated business processes, portals, CRM and other key applications become more reliant on content, the Gartner Group says the ability to provide a single point of integration to various content sources, so that content appears as if it lives in a single virtual repository, is a very important goal. VeniceBridge does just this, while exposing the native functionality of a given repository.

"As global organisations become increasingly dependent on the ability to access content that exists across the enterprise, they`re finding it too expensive to build content-rich applications because the content is managed in diverse repositories, databases and file systems," says Stuart Levinson, president and CEO, Venetica. "With VeniceBridge, companies are able to greatly reduce the cost and complexity of integrating enterprise applications with distributed content. We are pleased to be working with The IQ Business Group to bring this capability directly to the South African market."
