IRT Projects breaks new ground with MTN infrastructure rollout

IRT Projects landed an R18 million deal with major cellular company on supplying data centre cabinets and cooling solutions.

Johannesburg, 14 Nov 2008

IRT Projects is supplying MTN with data centre infrastructure cabinets and related cooling solutions to cater for the high levels of heat that are being generated by the latest blade servers and equipment used in the modern data centre facilities.

We have always been in the data centre infrastructure business and have a long-standing relationship with MTN. We are pleased that we could offer our experience and expertise to formulate a solution for MTN that is definitely the future of data centre cooling and management. We offer best-of-breed products to the market with excellent service and the technical expertise to back it up.

Managing director Jerry Stevens has said he is delighted with the kind of confidence and trust that major corporates like MTN are showing in IRT Projects. “This shows that even though we are a medium BBBEE enterprise with a level two contributor status, we can deliver the job and add serious value to the industry that we serve,” he said.

Financial director Rodwill van Wyk said: “This is one of the biggest deals we have landed since our inception in 2002. This deal with MTN will be a platform for us to land even bigger deals in the future and there are a few we are working on.”
