Coastal customers of Microsoft business solutions were given a lift last week as respected industry player iSolve launched impressive new offices in Cape Town, signalling strong demand for solutions and services on the vendor`s platform.

"With the extra floor space and potential for growth, as well as the state-of-the-art new facilities, we are better equipped to serve our growing customer base in the Western and Eastern Cape," said Lee Greene, MD of iSolve Coastal Region, at the launch.

Great opportunity

Himal Ramjee, iSolve director overseeing the coastal office, said iSolve brings a wide range of Microsoft competencies to the region - business intelligence (BI), custom development, data management, enterprise solutions, hardware, licensing, learning solutions and a Microsoft academy.

"Of all these, the biggest current gap is in high-quality training, both technical and end-user-related," he said. "We can make a difference in that we offer training as a services organisation. Our knowledge base is enriched by the field expertise of our consultants."

iSolve's new offices - the numbers

The new location, situated in the new Upper Eastside development in Woodstock, Cape Town, has 1 000m^2 of modern office and training facilities, including six training rooms with a capacity of 84 course goers. A Microsoft Gold Partner for learning solutions, the facility offers all Microsoft's official courses - both technical and end-user-specific. The Cape Town team consists of 16 permanent staff members, of whom 10 are Microsoft Certified Professionals.

Yusuf Dawood, platform business manager for the coastal region, Microsoft South Africa, said the launch also brings strength of delivery to the vendor in the region, specifically in BI.

"A lot of our customers make the investment in Microsoft enterprise technologies but lack the implementation skills to get value from it. iSolve is perfectly positioned to fill that gap.

Indeed, iSolve has become a "trusted extension" of Microsoft, augmenting the vendor`s technical expertise under Microsoft`s Virtual Technical Specialist programme. As a VTS, Greene gives up a maximum of 32 unbilled hours a month, providing technical Microsoft expertise where the vendor does not have the scale to support client presentations.

Great opportunity

"Ultimately, the opportunity for iSolve and our customers is on the implementation as well as the training side," Dawood concluded. "iSolve is one of few partners that offer end-to-end capability, so we`re very excited."
