ISP Internode appoints CIO
ISP Internode has appointed its first CIO: Mike Damms, an industry veteran with previous experience at companies including Vodafone UK, Avaya, Lucent and Motorola, says ZDnet Australia.
The company said in August it planned to appoint its first CIO as part of a management restructure that saw Patrick Tapper appointed CEO, working alongside MD Simon Hackett.
According to a statement from Internode, Damms said his role as CIO is to break down silos between technology areas by applying standardisation across product lines.
ACT names VP, CFO
Ashoka Achuthan will join ATC Technology as VP and CFO, succeeding Todd R Peters, who was named president and COO in May and will become CEO and a member of the board of directors on 1 January 2009, says Market Watch.
Also on 1 January, Edward Stewart will succeed Michael Jordan as lead director. John M Pinkerton has been appointed VP and chief accounting officer.
Ashoka Achuthan has been employed by Cooper Industries since 2005 where he was VP and CFO of Cooper Power Systems, a $1.4 billion division of Cooper Industries. Prior to Cooper, Ashoka held senior financial leadership positions at Siemens AG in both the US and Germany, spanning a 27-year career.
Priceline makes internal appointments
Priceline.com, which provides online travel services in 22 languages in over 70 countries, has promoted four executives to new senior management positions, states Market Watch.
Robert J Mylod Jr, former CFO, was named vice-chairman and head of worldwide strategy and planning. Daniel J Finnegan, former senior VP, chief accounting officer and controller, was named CFO.
Matthew N Tynan, former VP, financial planning, strategy and analysis, was named senior VP, finance and investor relations. Anthony J Cali, former director and assistant controller, was named VP and controller. All appointments are effective 1 January 2009.
