istudy4.com, South Africa`s first and leading dedicated internet learning company, has signed up its first authorised reseller, TrainSA.com. The agreement marks the consolidation of the provision of immediately accessible, multimedia internet courseware.
"The launch of istudy4.com took place at this year`s Computer Faire and we have been overwhelmed by the response to internet-based learning as a concept. The demand for our high quality interactive courses has outstripped all our expectations," said Glen Jordan, director, istudy4.com.
"This is evidenced by the fact that we have been approached by a number of leading players who want to participate in this brand new industry. We believe that internet-based learning could be like the cellular phone industry and outstrip projected growth by immense proportions.
"Take-up by corporates looking to move their training to internet-based learning has been most gratifying. Individuals looking to upgrade their skills have also welcomed the launch of our web site at www.istudy4.com.
The size of the authorised reseller agreement with TrainSA.com has not been disclosed, but in terms of the six-figure agreement, TrainSA.com will market the istudy4.com course material in exchange for local hosting, technical and marketing support from istudy4.com.
"Our reseller programme is designed to benefit our partners and provide market penetration for our best-of-breed online learning solutions. istudy4.com`s online learning system makes use of a proprietary technology called StreamMaker which is the most advanced technology of it sort and enables end users speedy access to high quality multimedia material. This is the kind of benefit our partners reap from their association with us," said Jordan.
The signing of this agreement coincides with the termination of TrainSA.com`s contract with its overseas supplier of online learning systems.
For TrainSA.com, an established online learning entity, the agreement provides access to more products and other advanced technologies offered by istudy4.com, which will be developing new content for the online learning web site and also customising existing content for the South African market. This includes material with voices having local accents, for example.
"This move will ensure that we achieve market leadership. We are headed for great things as a team," said Brian Andrew, managing director, TrainSA.com.
