The terminal computing solutions developer Smartlink has bought a shareholding in the South African business of another Estonian IT company, Revnetek.
The CEO of Smartlink, Henrik P~oder, said the expansion to South Africa largely happened by chance. "A KredEx guarantee allowed us to get additional finance from a bank and thus to implement the idea.
I must say that South Africa has turned out to be the most successful foreign market for us so far," he said. "Whether or not there will be a breakthrough must become clear in 2008-2009," P~oder added.
The company offers terminal workplaces with full service for a fixed monthly fee. The offer includes all the necessary hardware (server, terminals and monitors), software (browser, e-mail, office and anti-virus solutions), as well as services such as data hosting and system administration. In addition to Estonia Smartlink has sold its products to Poland and the United States.
