IT governance accreditation pending
The IT Governance Institute (ITGI) in conjunction with ISACA (Information Systems Audit and Control Association) is developing an IT governance accreditation framework to be released late next year, reports Australia's Computer World.
ISACA, a global body encompassing some 50 000 IT professionals worldwide, administers globally recognised accreditation for the Certified Information Systems Auditor and Certified Information Security Manager certification through online testing.
The eventual accreditation will be offered at two levels: an IT governance practitioner certification and an IT governance manager certification. Both accreditations will be based on the existing COBIT foundation certificate available but oriented towards aligning IT with the business framework.
Gartner conference examines risk issues
The Gartner Data Center Conference, to be held towards the end of this month, will focus on the critical issues facing today's data centre industry.
These include servers, IT operations, storage, business continuity management and disaster recovery, and best practices. The 25th Annual Gartner Data Center Conference will be held from 28 November to 1 December in Las Vegas.
At this event, Active Reasoning will showcase how its IT Controls Automation Platform helps data centres implement policies and controls to proactively and automatically instantiate policy, detect actions, correlate events and enforce controls.
Paisley updated
Paisley Consulting, which provides governance, risk and compliance (GRC) and audit software solutions, has launched the latest version of its flagship Paisley Solution, reports the Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Compliance Journal.
The new version of the Paisley Solution features enhanced reporting capability, expanded operational risk management functionality and new tools for auditors.
The Paisley Solution also includes access to auditing, SOX, and risk management content through its integration with Thomson RIA Checkpoint, a research tool for accounting and tax professionals.
