IT outsourcing big in 2020

A global research study reveals the number of companies that will outsource their IT infrastructure will increase by 2020, states PR Newswire.

The study, undertaken by Vanson Bourne, predicts the growth rate will increase from the current 17% up to 64%; with 61% of the respondents believing that managing IT in-house provides no competitive advantage.

The study involved over 600 IT and business decision-makers from the US, UK and Singapore.

GlobalLogic absorbs Global Graphics

GobalLogic, a global software product engineering company, has completed a captive transfer of Global Graphics Software, a developer of e-document and printing software, writes Katonda.

GlobalLogic absorbed Global Graphic's former employees into its Pune development centre, and will provide HR, IT, finance and operational processing going forward.

“We win by partnering with an industry leader and by adding high-quality people to our Pune centre. Global Graphics wins by gaining access to GlobalLogic Velocity, our distributed development platform and toolset, and through reduced costs, improved operations and greater innovation,” says Ajmal Noorani, chief of international business, GlobalLogic.

Egypt takes outsourcing lead

Egypt's Information and Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) says the country is one of the top outsourcing countries, writes CIO.

Egypt is a growing outsourcing destination and one of the favoured locations for offshore work in the Middle East, with companies tapping into the local talent pool.

“The presence of high-profile companies like IBM, Microsoft and Vodafone in Egypt highlights the ITIDA's continued success at building the country's reputation as a global service deliver location,” says Hossam Megahed, board member of ITIDA.
