Itec scoops dealer award from Samsung distributor Mia Telecommunications

Johannesburg, 05 Nov 2009

Mia Telecommunications, the sole authorised distributor of Samsung telecommunications and PABX equipment for sub-Saharan Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands, has awarded Itec second place in its Dealer of the Year awards.

Itec, southern Africa's fastest growing office automation and telecommunications solutions provider, beat off fierce competition from many of South Africa's top telecommunications dealers to secure the award. Itec was appointed as an authorised Samsung solutions provider only two years ago, and has since grown into a major player in the Samsung dealer channel, with Platinum dealer status.

“We are delighted that Mia Telecommunications has recognised the hard work our channel partners have put into the Samsung product range over the past two years,” says Frank Mullen, chief operating officer at Itec Enterprise Solutions. “This award acknowledges the growth in market share and revenue we have achieved over the past year.”

Mullen adds that the Samsung product range complements Itec's existing strengths in the office automation and telecommunications market, by providing it with a market-leading set of IP-based telephony products.

“We are proud to be aligned with a brand that has established itself as a leader in South Africa and the rest of the world,” says Mullen. “The high quality Samsung products distributed by Mia Telecommunications, our proven expertise in the telecommunications market and our consulting-led sales approach have proven to be a winning combination.”

Says Charles Enslin, managing director at Mia/Samsung Networking: “Itec has proven to be an outstanding business partner for Samsung in South Africa, showing exceptional growth in sales year-on year.

“We awarded the Dealer of the Year awards based on three key criteria: sales generated by our business partners, their investments into technical certifications and skills, and the quality of the clients they won. Itec excelled in each of these criteria. We look forward to working with Itec in the years to come.”
