InterSystems SA is holding its second South African Symposium, entitled Connections - Connecting People and IT for Business, today and tomorrow at the Sandton Sun Hotel.
The company will demonstrate how CACH'E, its high-speed database, and Ensemble, its integration platform, can bridge the gap between IT and people to make them more effective, and to enable companies to maximise their IT investment.
"InterSystems people from around the world will be joining the South African team to bring the latest information on the company and its technologies to our current and prospective partners and customers," says InterSystems SA country manager Henry Adams. "This will ensure that users of our technology are up to speed on the latest product features and how these can benefit their business."
Adams says the theme for the 2004 Symposium is derived from the ability of InterSystems` technology to connect people and IT, putting them in control of their companies and leveraging their existing applications and investment while reducing costs, seamlessly handling change, giving them real-time information to make informed decisions, and improving performance.
While InterSystems` 2003 Symposium focused on CACH'E, this year`s event sees the introduction of Ensemble, InterSystems` comprehensive application integration platform. Delegates will be able to learn about the outstanding success of Ensemble`s recent launch, and how it is opening up new opportunities for InterSystems and its partners.
"In addition to giving informative presentations and workshops for CACH'E developers, we have added sessions for system integrators and builders of composite applications who need to quickly and easily create integrated systems," says Adams.
The InterSystems SA Symposium gives partners and customers an ideal opportunity to connect with their peers, to attend sessions that will help to unlock the full potential of InterSystems technology and to meet key technologists from InterSystems globally.
Topics for discussion include source code control for applications and procedures, business process modelling and orchestration, using InterSystems` technology in a .NET environment, and projecting objects as XML and Web services.
Since launching in SA in 2002, InterSystems has signed up more than 45 partners and deployed thousands of CACH'E licences. Local customers include the Provincial Administration of the Western Cape, Atos Origin, Mycomax and BPO Med.
