In an industry sales survey by market data specialist infoSource, Konica Minolta South Africa, a Bidvest company, was named as the local market's overall top supplier of multifunctional copiers for the first quarter of 2011, as well as the number one supplier of colour multifunctional printers (MFPs) with a market share of 25%.
“We are extremely pleased with our performance as this not only bodes well for our product line-up, but for our customers too,” says Marianna Gdanis, business unit manager at Konica Minolta South Africa.
The company's market share position announcement was shortly followed by the announcement that Konica Minolta Business Technologies has named the Konica Minolta South Africa operation as the best global performer for 2010 at its annual conference held in Shanghai, China. “This marks the sixth consecutive win for the local company, which competed against 29 other rival countries this year,” adds Gdanis.
In addition, Konica Minolta proved its strong legacy and brand reputation in the market by winning the coveted Buyers Lab - a global provider of information and testing services to the digital imaging industry - “MFP Line of the Year” award, which is bestowed once a year to the OEM whose product line is determined to be the best overall in its category.
“For our clients, being positioned as number one both locally and globally reinforces that bizhub truly is the leading MFP brand in South Africa,” says Gdanis.
“And, to ensure that we retain our top position in both third-party and our clients' judgments, we have placed a great focus on being a company that displays the highest technical competence. For this reason, this year alone, we have invested more than 1 400 days in training and can also boast that we are the only Konica Minolta distributor to employ three holders of the much valued and rare Konica Minolta Diploma in Colour, and so join the international expert rank of a total of only 16 worldwide achievers of this qualification.”
