ITWeb steps up Africa coverage

ITWeb adds correspondents from a number of key African ICT markets.

ITWeb has stepped up its coverage of the ICT sector beyond South Africa, with the appointment of regular correspondents from East Africa and Zambia.

According to Ranka Jovanovic, ITWeb's editorial director, a partnership with a Nairobi-based news agency ensures regular, exclusive coverage from Kenya, while an ICT journalist based in Lusaka has been commissioned to report on the Zambian ICT market.

“Initial readership stats for the stories on Kenyan and Zambian ICT markets show strong demand for this content,” she says. “ITWeb will soon extend East Africa coverage to Tanzania and Uganda. We are also looking to sign up ICT journalists to report from Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Ghana and Nigeria.”

She adds that ITWeb decided to increase its coverage of the continent as it is one of the fastest growing adopters of technology. “In addition, many of our clients have offices around the continent, and are keen to be kept up to date with ICT developments in the area.”

ITWeb has always been the publication of choice for SA's IT decision-makers, she concludes. "We aim to provide the same service and quality reporting to the ICT professional communities across the English-speaking sub-Saharan Africa."
