A technology co-operation agreement has been reached between local financials software house Ixchange Hill Cunnington, and ERP vendor infor, whereby Hill Cunnington will develop a solution which will see the local software developer`s financial suite seamlessly integrated into infor.
infor, the second largest ERP vendor in Germany behind SAP, has been in operation in South Africa for less than two years, and has targeted the discrete manufacturing and distribution environments as its market. infor is installed at 28 sites in South Africa, including John Deere, Wika Instrumentation and Knowens Carpets. It runs exclusively on Microsoft Windows NT, and is fully integrated into the MS Office and Back Office software applications, and SQL Server and Oracle databases.
"When the English version of infor was released in March 1997, it did not have core financial modules because it was interfaced with other products such as SAP," says infor SA sales and marketing director Clayton Hayward. "In AccountAbility we found a solution which could be integrated into the English version of infor, and in Hill Cunnington we secured a technology partner which did not compete in the ERP space. Together the solutions will make a product which we believe will be a serious player in the midmarket sector, and through joint marketing we feel confident of securing 150 sites by the end of 1999."
"Both Ixchange and infor are enjoying a growth in market share in South Africa, and the seamless nature of AccountAbility makes it easily adaptable to any further enhancements infor may make to its product," says Hill Cunnington sales director John Olsson. Bearing in mind that both Ixchange and infor have also made significant inroads in the US, New Zealand and Australian markets, we feel confident AccountAbility will suit whatever environment it may enter."
