B2B e-commerce specialist, Izodia, has extended support for its flagship B2B global e-commerce software applications platform, InTrade 5, to one of the most notable Unix communities, Sun Solaris.
Izodia InTrade 5, a unified application for commerce chain management, now supports the most widely deployed e-business platforms of Windows NT, Windows 2000 and Unix. The Solaris release for InTrade 5 includes all of the robust and comprehensive functionality of InTrade 5, adds support for Oracle databases and any standards-based Web Server. InTrade 5 functionality will remain the same irrespective of platform.
"InTrade 5 sets a new industry standard in electronic trading by extracting the business logic and the commerce trading application from the underlying IT infrastructure," says Gavin Lourens, General Manager for Izodia in South Africa.
"Scalability is a major feature of the InTrade 5 solution, providing services to support multiple organisations in multiple trading configurations from small companies with straightforward processes and structures to complex Fortune 1000 enterprises. It is designed to operate in the global arena, providing comprehensive support for multiple language, currency, tax systems, date formatting and international trade principles, to provide a true cross-platform, cross-border trading capability."
Lourens says InTrade 5`s extended functionality includes support for the Sun Solaris platform, the world`s most popular version of the Unix operating system along with the Oracle database, which is the natural choice of database to operate with a Sun Unix platform.
"We are providing our users with the option of two of the most popular operating platforms in the market. With powerful support for closely managed private marketplaces and expansive public exchanges, InTrade 5 allows companies of all sizes to evolve their existing business from one to the other as their e-commerce strategy matures. This provides a completely portable, extremely scalable and functionally rich application that enables organisations of any size to trade in the widest variety of scenarios with the ability to articulate, customise and manage all aspects of their trading relationships at every level."
Over 1 600 documented XML API calls allow any InTrade 5 function to be called by, and to exchange information with external applications. The entire business logic of the application is exposed for access and use through these XML-based APIs, ensuring true portability and interoperability, as well as empowering users to expand the functionality to suit their own unique requirements or third party tools.
This means any e-business-related product or service can integrate seamlessly with a client`s existing or planned software infrastructure, making InTrade 5 a truly open systems platform in B2B e-commerce.
