Jasco deputy chairperson moves on

Johannesburg, 07 Jul 2005

Three months after the resignation of Jasco CEO Stuart Robertson, non-executive deputy chairperson Theo Rutstein says he will not be available for re-election.

A SENS announcement issued late yesterday said Rutstein had not offered himself for re-election due to other business commitments. It said the board wished him well in his role as executive chairperson of the Teljoy Group and that it was in the process of finding a replacement for him.

In April, CEO Stuart Robertson said he was stepping down to take up a post at the group`s empowerment , CIH Group. Jasco said Robertson had "completed his mandate to transform the group into an empowered entity with a sustainable growth platform".

The SENS report quoted Jasco non-executive chairperson Anna Mokgokong as telling the group`s AGM this week that the group had successfully completed a period of consolidation and restructuring over the past year, putting the group "back on a path of profitability".

Mokgokong said all operating divisions were now profitable and Jasco was particularly proud of the recent upgrading of its black empowerment status to an A.
