JSE-listed Jasco Electronics is restructuring its board to improve efficiency, expertise and comply with new corporate governance frameworks.
As a result, it has appointed Pete da Silva as an independent non-executive director from the end of last month.
“Da Silva brings a wealth of business and telecommunications experience to the team,” says Jasco.
Da Silva has more than 20 years' experience with Siemens SA, where he headed up the Siemens business development team in the sales environment, before becoming COO and then CEO of Siemens Telecommunications SA.
In 2005, he became the group CEO for Siemens Southern Africa. After moving on from Siemens, he became the group CEO of A1GP, until March.
“The board welcomes Da Silva to Jasco and believes he will add tremendous value to the group's overall business direction, as well as specialised input into the group's majority division of telecommunications,” the company says.
