JBA South Africa today announced that it had strengthened its thrust into the agricultural market by becoming the sole distributor in South Africa for Farm Works Software, a product from agriculturally focused Farm Works, a subsidiary of CTN Data Service Inc., in the USA.
Farm Works Software is a Windows-based complete integrated applications solution for farmers, and consists of Farm Fund, the core financial and costing system; Farm Stock, the livestock and dairy module; Farm Trac, the crop farming module; and Farm Site, the entity directed at precision farming.
The product is currently installed in some 8000 sites world-wide, including South Africa, and will be marketed as a complete package of Hardware, Software and Services, through the various Co-operatives that exist across the country. This is perceived as part of their added-value initiatives to the farming community, and includes the establishment of a centre of excellence to underpin this activity, particularly from a support and services perspective.
JBA South Africa is currently in the process of South Africanising the software, and will provide the initial training and support through its Agripro Division. This division, under the leadership of their General Manager, Norden van Zyl, also has responsibility for Agribusiness initiatives based on Agripro 21, the version of JBA`s Systems 21 specifically tailored and packaged for the agricultural sector.
JBA
JBA South Africa (Pty) Limited, is the South African subsidiary of JBA International Plc, which in turn owned by London Stock Exchange listed JBA Holdings, a leading world-wide provider of enterprise management software solutions, with local offices in Johannesburg, and Cape Town, and with a strong presence throughout sub-Saharan Africa.
