JBA and Symix Systems, two leading providers of enterprise management applications, today announced that Symix has licensed JBA to distribute Symix`s leading mid-market APS solution to JBA`s current and future customers. Both Symix and JBA will market and distribute Symix`s APS solution as separate products within their respective enterprise resource planning (ERP) application suites, working jointly to rapidly advance the core APS product.

APS solutions replace traditional materials requirement planning (MRP) systems. The systems enable manufacturers to provide their customers with delivery promise dates, instantly, by concurrently considering all factory resources and constraints during the scheduling process. Because APS develops accurate production schedules based on real- time information, manufacturers are able to keep their delivery "promise." Using APS, manufacturers can quickly determine the consequences of an expedited order, and can proactively react to schedule changes.
