JD Edwards boosts real estate forecasting with AREF solution

Technology has a major role to play in real estate companies by helping them create and maintain operational efficiencies, increase profitability and achieve visibility into the future market.

In line with this, JD Edwards South Africa has announced its JD Edwards 5 Advanced Real Estate Forecasting (AREF) solution, which fully integrates with its Real Estate Management Solution to unify and manage budgeting and forecasting processes and automate the flow of market information.

Advanced Real Estate Forecasting is an integrated, scalable, Web-based solution that enables customers to compute budgets and forecast future revenue and expense streams. The solution`s integrated workspace helps to improve the integrity and accuracy of property valuations, projected cash flow and budget forecasts.

It seamlessly integrates with the JD Edwards Real Estate Management Solution to present to users a comprehensive view of information that will enable them to evaluate the timing of a potential sale, maximise the return on investment of current deals, and visibility into company operations.

This new forecasting module enables real estate management companies to:

* Increase data integrity and employee efficiency by standardising processes;

* Increase the accuracy of budgets, forecasts and valuations to improve decision-making and resource allocations;

* Reduce reporting time and costs; and

* Access "always available" budget and forecast information.

Key benefits of AREF include: 15-year budget forecasting, unit-based forecasting, commission calculations, scenario budgeting, real estate financial calculations, budget cycle reduction, managing multiple budgets, and property cash flow reporting.

The new solution is based on insights gleaned from the inputs of the many JD Edwards customers in the real estate industry.
