I recently had the opportunity to get my hands on the first eight DVD volumes of Juice Drops, a collection of images developed by Digital Juice. This set consists of 800 royalty-free Adobe Photoshop layered images at 5175x3375 resolution and 300 dots per inch print quality, and 1 600 flattened Tiff images in RGB and CMYK format.
Being in the design and multimedia industry for the past five years, I have been looking for a product like this to save time, enhance my creativity and enable me to focus more on the other parts of the multimedia development process.
Each DVD consists of many different design styles from "High Impact" and "Tech Extreme" through to "Ultra Grunge" and "Ultra 3D". With all these uniquely titled high-quality graphics at my fingertips, I was creating amazing graphic interfaces and poster designs in a fraction of the time it would usually have taken me. With all the graphics being on separate layers in the Photoshop format, one is able to create unique images through basic manipulation.
Another feature that impressed me was the Juicer 2 library management software it came bundled with. This application makes browsing through 24 DVDs of images quick by loading the previews into memory and allowing you to render out the graphic into a selection of formats including Jpegs, Tiffs, Mac Paint and many more. It also has an "import directly into PowerPoint" button to save time when creating presentations in this Microsoft application.
Overall, I was impressed with the amount of time Digital Juice must have spent on developing these stunning visuals and how useful the product is for Web designers, multimedia developers, print professionals, and basically anybody who needs to create impressive graphics on the fly. I also found that it is affordable to even the home user just wanting a library of graphics for birthday cards or a personal Web site.
Advanced 3D Grafx is the official South African distributor of Digital Juice.
